I was very excited to have this session with these cute kids… mainly because I had already photographed the older brother at his preschool before, Jace, and he was awesome for his pictures. What I didn’t see coming was Jace’s little sister, Marlee. You know, I should know better! I do have a little girl who turns three tomorrow who can be a nightmare! Of course, it all depends on her mood, typical girl I guess. Marlee was no different.

Luckily, I have lots of experience with these headstrong girls (possibly being one myself, or so my parents have always told me!) If we wanted Marlee to sit on the chair, she stood next to it. If we wanted Marlee to stand alone, she sat on the chair on her brother’s lap no less… and god forbid we let someone else near the chair that she didn’t want to sit on… if she wasn’t on it, no one else could be either. Thank goodness Jace was so good and patient.

After I used a few tricks and let her run the show for a bit, things started to go better and we were able to capture some genuine smiles. At the end of the session, it turned out to be a great day. I had lots of fun and can’t wait to get the kids together again!
