It’s been a little while since I’ve posted any pictures of my kids, and since the weather is warming up, it’s time for me to start getting outside and capturing the little moments that I want to always remember. I’m not sure why, but in the winter I tend to keep my camera tucked away in my bag and only bring it out for my work, and then the next thing you know, almost 6 months have blown by and I have not taken a single picture of my family! Maybe it’s the pale skin and dull gray skies of winter that make photographing in the winter not so fun, but one thing is for sure… spring is here and my camera has bloomed its next life!

Today is exceptionally beautiful, almost hot actually, and so I decided to take my camera out and snap some images for fun. I had no intentions of creating a blog post, but my daughter crossed a major milestone in her childhood… the first “real” skinned knee. She’s has little “boo boo’s” all the time, that of course immediately need a band aid, but this one was the real thing with all the fun associated summertime skinned knees. She’s learning how to steer and pedal her bike at the same time, not an easy task for a toddler. I have to say though, she’s one tough little two year old, had this happened to my boys, ages 7 and 8, well….. I better not embarrass them too much.

The reason I chose to document this on my blog is because this is one of those moments that seems small and is often forgotten, but is really a memory I will miss someday. It won’t be too long until she won’t need or even want a kiss from mommy to make it all better. She’ll just get up and keep going, a lesson most parents want to teach their children about life. If you fall down, brush yourself off, get back on your bike, and try again. However, for this first time, it’s okay to give yourself  a kiss and make mommy kiss it too… you’re only little for so long! “Now it’s all better!” I love you Liv!
