This beautiful woman is one of my best friends and I had the pleasure to steal her for a few quick maternity images before her third bundle of joy. I had to really twist her arm to even give me a chance to document this time in her life because like most pregnant mothers (especially when it’s your third pregnancy and the novelty has long worn off…) She eventually gave in thanks to an oddly warm day in the middle of February.

We went across the street from our house to this field of brush, (she happens to be my neighbor as well) and we snuck out away from our kids (daddy time) for a brief half hour to capture some beautiful images. It’s amazing how pregnant women really do have a ‘glow’ about them and I think it definitely shines through in her photos. There was something so calming and serene about photographing a beautiful baby bump silhouetted by the setting sun…. just lovely!

The sun quickly set as we headed back to our homes, when I heard a faint cry. As I walked closer, I found that the cry was coming from my house. I look up and there is my 2 year old daughter smashed up again the glass storm door, snot running, tears flowing, hair all disheveled, looking like a hot mess! (This is what happens when she can still see me across the street.) I quickly grabbed my camera to show you what my often times too ‘realistic’ life looks like, but I was too late and she hid her face in the ground until I put the camera away.

For those of you who look through my site and see this scenery that create gorgeous images, I bet you never would guess what is just outside of the frame… I’ve taken pictures with a child wrapped around my leg screaming, pictures with baby poop smeared on my sleeve from a darling newborn, taken pictures laying on the ground with my shoe stuck in a mound of mud oozing through, pictures dangling high in the trees, all just to get that perfect shot, or get a free moment away 🙂 !
